Looking for a DIY Sore Muscle Relief Cream? One of my resolutions for the new year was to start a fitness program using strength training. With this new resolution, I have experienced some soreness and even a pulled a muscle that had me taking it easy for a week. Pulling my muscle had me searching for a sore muscle relieving cream that I could make myself.
I turned to my essential oils to find the best oils to bring the best and quickest relief to my aching muscles and joints because I was ready to continue building my strength.
I chose three essential oils that provided the three things I look for in muscle soreness: an analgesic to ease pain; an anti-inflammatory component; and an anti-spasm property.
Peppermint Oil – possesses menthol which a cooling effect on sore achy muscles as well as an analgesic, anti-spasmodic, and anti-inflammatory properties.
Wintergreen Oil – offers strong analgesic activity along with anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic like the peppermint oil.
Adding these essential oils to a soybean wax based body cream is an ecologically sound choice and the soy wax seems to stay on the surface longer allowing the essential oil properties to penetrate the areas that you need it most…the sore muscles and joints. And soy wax is vegan option.
Soybeans are used in food, cosmetics, skincare and industrial products. It indeed is the miracle bean. Look for domestically-sourced, cosmetic-grade soybean wax from soybeans grown in the U.S.
Soybeans are the largest row crop in Arkansas. In 2016, 3.1 million acres of soybeans produced 146 million bushels of valued at $1.5 billion. And I see these beautiful beans grown right in my backyard.
I had no idea how much I would enjoy using Soy Wax so much. I’ve been using this soy wax based muscle relief cream since the I experienced sore muscles from working out and I have to tell you, I’ve found relief and my skin is softer.
