Thirty Paintings in 30 Days: Day 2

Thirty Paintings in 30 Days: Day 2

Peonies in a Pail, by Kellee Mayfield. 8x8" oil on canvas

Peonies in a Pail, by Kellee Mayfield. 8×8″ oil on canvas.

Day 2 of Thirty Paintings in 30 days and I painted peonies in a pail. The peonies to the side are compact and reminded me of cotton bolls that we are about to see in the Delta landscape. Then the peonies change shape as their petals open and widen to gorgeous blooms. I’ve said it before but peonies are some of my favorite flowers.

I spent the day unpacking from my trip and organizing my art supplies. My suitcase had been on three trips without being completely unpacked. It may sound unorganized, but it wasn’t. I’ve learned that I have go-to outfits for all occasions. Yes, there is a point when washing items becomes necessary. That’s where I am in the process of packing, unpacking and pre-packing.

Do you pre-pack a suitcase?

Thank you for joining me for this #30Paintingsin30Days challenge.

Please join me tomorrow for Day 3’s painting.
