Thirty Paintings in 30 Days: Day 4

Thirty Paintings in 30 Days: Day 4

Since this painting is for my vegan soy wax lip balm label, let me add my disclosure.

Disclosure: This year I am serving as a Brand Ambassador for the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board which means I will be sharing the #ARSoyStory, all things Arkansas Soybeans as well as highlighting the partner restaurants for the #Kitchen|FieldsTableTour 2018. All opinions are my own.

Welcome to Day 4.

Soybean for My Lip Balm Label. 6×6″ oil on gessoed panel.

My soy wax lip balm needed a real soybean image for its label and not the faux soybean illustration I used from a graphic design platform called Canva. I knew eventually I’d be called out on that other bean so I painted this soybean.

Sometimes I sit on the floor and paint and today was one of those days. My dog Heidi walked in and onto my palette of wet oil paint. Then she rested her body on my palette as if it were a dog pillow.

I reacted like anyone would. I immediately grabbed my phone and captured the moment for an Instagram story. I’ll try to post here tomorrow. I wiped the paint off her with baby wipes and covered my furniture in blankets in case any paint remained.

Thanks for joining me for Day 4!
