Thirty Paintings in 30 Days: Day 1

Thirty Paintings in 30 Days: Day 1

I joined Leslie Saeta’s painting challenge of 2018 of Thirty Paintings in 30 Days and today is the first day. I heard on her Artists Helping Artists podcast that there were more than 700 artists around the globe participating in this challenge.

Tulip Still Life in oil on 11×16″ canvas panel.

I’m getting my 30 day painting party started with a Tulip Still Life which is 11×16” on canvas panel in oil.

I painted this still life with a friend and had a great time! We had talked about painting together for months…and finally did! We painted, chatted and listened to music.

I even ran around Greenville, MS in my painting clothes.

(My painting clothes are the clothes I own that already have paint on them…and that leaves the clothes that WILL have paint on them.)

Thanks to Lake Village Flowers for arranging these flowers for our still life session! The tulips were perfect.

Special thanks to my friends at SoDelta Candle and Midtown Greenville for finding us a corner to paint.

What is your favorite flower that promises spring will be here soon? It’s tulips for me.
