Did I tell you I took a plein air painting workshop this summer in Tuscany? I did! I participated in my second Open Air Italy Artist Workshop with my friend, Susan Truitt. We stayed in an agriturismo (a renovated Tuscan farmhouse) in Val D’Orcia outside of Pienza, Italy.
Larry Moore led that workshop and I gained so much from his instruction. He paints effortlessly, explains his process and is really cool.
I have so much to tell you about my Tuscany trip, but for now, I’m sharing a painting inspired by a walk through Pienza.
Here’s Day 11 from my 30 Paintings in 30 Days:
A yellow Vespa parked on cobble stone street next to an ochre wall.
Can a person crush on a Vespa? I really want one. I wonder if a Vespa would be practical where I live?
Have you been to Italy? If yes, where did you go and what was your favorite thing? If you haven’t been where would you go?
Would you drive around your town on a Vespa?
Anything you want me to include in a post regarding the plein air painting workshop? By the way, I’m taking another Open Air Italy plein air workshop in Amalfi in October with Mary Garrish. I’m becoming an expert in packing and traveling to Europe with my oil painting easel and supplies.
Thanks for joining me for Day 11’s painting. I’ll be posting Day 12’s painting soon.
